Classics and Moderns. Masterpieces from the BBVA Collection

November 13, 2025 – February 15, 2026

Did you know that the BBVA Collection is one of Spain’s most surprising artistic treasures?

What makes it truly special is its great variety, as it has been built up over time through the union of works from very different origins. Far from being a simple mix, this diversity offers us a fascinating and nuanced perspective on art history. With nearly nine thousand pieces, the collection takes us on an exciting journey from the Middle Ages to the present day, divided into two distinct worlds: classical art and the most avant-garde proposals of recent times.

In this exhibition, we invite you to enjoy the great gems of classical art within the collection, featuring paintings created between the 15th and 20th centuries. Although separated by hundreds of years, all these works share a common language: that way of portraying reality that was born in Flanders and Italy centuries ago.

As you walk through the exhibition, you will discover how the brushes, colors, and the artists' preferred themes have changed, always keeping alive that passion for capturing the world around us.
