Back in 1971, photographer Cristóbal Hara—who would go on to receive the National Photography Award in 2022—published a unique collection called 15 Instant Tales. The project captures a charming collaboration: fifteen portraits of schoolchildren from Cuenca, each paired with a story written by the children themselves. Rather than simply describing the photos, these young authors used the images as a spark for their own imaginations, creating original tales inspired by the moments Hara captured.

The original portfolio was a true creative effort, designed by Jaume and Jordi Blassi at the Museo de Arte Abstracto Español in Cuenca, within the graphic arts studio founded by Fernando Zóbel. Now touring through our galleries in Cuenca and Palma, this exhibition invites you to explore all fifteen photographs and the wonderful stories that bring them to life. We hope you enjoy this nostalgic and imaginative look at the world through the eyes of these young storytellers.
