Georg Baselitz. Paintings 2014-2025
October 8, 2025 – March 1, 2026
George Baselitz (born 1938 in Germany) is one of Europe’s top contemporary painters. He first made a name for himself in the 1960s with his huge, expressive figurative paintings, part of a generation that questioned the values that led to World War II.
This exhibition brings together around fifty of his paintings from the past ten years, selected by British historian Norman Rosenthal, mostly from private collections.
Many of the works are massive—some over four meters tall—and showcase Baselitz’s recurring obsessions: the body, autobiography, and art history. Heads, hands, legs, nylon stockings, and even eagles pop up in these striking images, showing the energy, expressiveness, and sharp vision of his latest work.
