Jem Perucchini. The Diaphanous Soul of a Motionless Morning
December 11, 2025 – June 28, 2026
Perucchini’s art is a soulful blend of his Ethiopian heritage and his Italian upbringing. Growing up in Ethiopia, he was shaped by the country's vibrant frescoes and sacred symbols—a tradition where the spiritual and the everyday have always walked hand-in-hand. When he moved to Italy to study at the Brera Academy, he began to weave these roots together with the classic techniques of the Renaissance and the bold spirit of the Italian Novecento.
As the artist explains: “I was born in Ethiopia, a country with an incredible history and strong ties to the West.
I grew up and was educated in Italy, a place that has shaped so much of art history. My work is where these two parts of my life meet.”
The result is a unique conversation between Ethiopian storytelling and Italian tradition. Through his paintings, Perucchini creates a space for us to pause and reflect on our shared human experience, bridging the gap between ancient spirituality and modern life.
