Slight Threshold

“Slight Threshold” is an exhibition to be heard. Drawing on the work of thinkers such as Pauline Oliveros or Laurie Anderson, the works of Laura Llaneli invite us to practice attentive listening, to exercise this sense both in the exhibition as a whole and in each of its works in a selective manner, in order to also reflect on its conceptual and political implications. The relationship we have with the world is fundamentally visual—in the urban Western world—. Traditionally, contemporary art, visited in more or less white cubes, incorporates sound with a certain wariness or conceived as an accompaniment or mere temporal “activation”.
