Marilyn Monroe: A Portrait
June 4, 2026 – September 6, 2026
Celebrate what would have been Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday! Created in partnership with the Marilyn Monroe estate, Marilyn Monroe: A Portrait is an inviting look at the life, career, and enduring legacy of a true Hollywood icon through the eyes of the world’s most famous artists and photographers.
The exhibition features legendary works by Andy Warhol, Pauline Boty, Marlene Dumas, James Gill, Rosalyn Drexler, and Audrey Flack. You’ll also see iconic shots from over 20 master photographers, including Cecil Beaton, Richard Avedon, Eve Arnold, and many more. Rather than just seeing her as a subject, you will discover how Marilyn was a creative partner who worked closely with these artists to craft her legendary image.
To help you get to know the woman behind the fame, we have also included a selection of her personal belongings, such as her books, scripts, and clothes. These private items offer a heartfelt look at the person behind the Hollywood persona.
Follow her incredible journey from her early days as a young model named Norma-Jeane to her final, moving photographs taken on a Malibu beach in 1962. As one of the most photographed people in history and the star of beloved films like Some Like it Hot, Marilyn’s presence changed popular culture forever.
From the 1950s to today, Marilyn has never stopped inspiring us. Whether in Warhol’s world-famous portraits or the work of contemporary artists, her fascinating life and style continue to capture our imaginations. Come and see why she remains an eternal star.
