Ca’ Giustinian

Italy / Venice

Welcome to the home of the Venice Biennale. Perched right on the water overlooking the San Marco Basin, this stunning palace is one of the city’s finest examples of late Gothic architecture. Originally known as Ca’ Giustinian, the building we see today was created around 1471 by joining two historic houses—the Giustinian and the Badoer-Tiepolo—into one grand estate.

Following a thoughtful restoration between 2008 and 2009, the interior now offers a refreshing, modern contrast to its historic exterior. You can visit these spaces by request, where you’ll find clean lines and soft neutral tones paired with the bold shapes and colors of contemporary design. Every piece of art has been carefully placed to create a conversation between the works and the rooms themselves, all bathed in the beautiful, natural light that defines the palace.
